Quantum physics is the science that is occupied with the smallest particles in the subatomic realm. Rene Descartes has established that there are apparently two independent substances. On the one hand there is the material aspect of things, placed in space and on the other hand, we have the non-spatial, invisible, spiritual substance.

For a long time science has only dealt with the ‘material aspect’ and religions , theology and philosophy  with the ’spiritual aspect’. However if one looks at the considerations of various important quantum physicists we can see that the spiritual-invisible aspect gains ground once again in science.

In this public talk we would like to put forward some of the basic concepts of quantum physics and show how the ideas being discussed in quantum physics are parallel to the ideas discussed in spirituality. These include topics such as consciousness and materiality being an illusion.

Note: While a basic understanding of physics will be helpful, no prior knowledge of physics or quantum physics is required.

Garden of the Heart

The modern Rosycross sometimes poetically refers to the inner life as ‘the rose of the mysteries’, the ‘rose of the heart’, spirit spark or lotus flower. It is a treasury filled with inner spiritual values that are buried in the depth of our microcosm.

An inner voice communicates this hidden knowledge to our consciousness and makes it acceptable for us. We feel attracted to this knowledge and everything related to these universal teachings.

During the course of our lives however, we occasionally wonder from our path, we become caught in the cycle of rising, shining, and fading in our world of forms. On these deviations we lose contact with this inner voice.

The voice however keeps calling out to our soul so that when we return on the path we may hear its sweet voice again; to help us to return to our point of departure. And in a moment of enlightenment, it becomes clear to us that the Divine world is ‘closer than hands and feet’.

This legend which has been handed down to us and kept alive through the centuries, has very often been alleged as being a garbled account of a historical fact, or as is the case with similar stories, branded as not having occurred historically at all. However, the story contains in actual fact a deep hidden meaning!

This hidden meaning will not be apparent to us for as long as we seek the answer in the ordinary, natural way, by the use of the intellect. In these legends the stories often confront us with the struggle of our soul-being which is imprisoned in each one of us and longs to be set free.

Greek God of Fortune: Nemesis

It is not so long ago that in the West reincarnation, or the law of rebirth, was an unknown concept. Today however, many accept it as fact in one form or another, seeing it as a teaching of purely eastern origin.

We mainly find it in Eastern teachings (such as Hinduism), but also in Africa, Australia and also the native Indians of the Americas. Early Christianity also taught reincarnation and it was an accepted believe (Clement of Alexandria and Origen). Christian Gnostics such as Valentine and Marcion were also reincarnationists.

If we want to understand our life, why we are as we are and who we are, we need to clearly understand the aim of reincarnation and the meaning of life and death.

The Gnostic Rosicrucians believe that the point of our lives lies not in this world at all. We experience ourselves living in a prison, a universe separate from the Divine Source that we call God. We feel alien in this world, exiles who belong to another universe, a universe that is free of evil, suffering and death. We’re not talking about vague promises of an afterlife in heaven if we’ve been good according to religious morals devised by mortal humans. We;re talking about a Universe that exists right now, here and everywhere, and that is not entered by being “good”, but by a process of complete transmutation and transfiguration. It is man’s true home; it is our original home and the Kingdom to which we will all eventually return.

More than a place, it is a state of consciousness which we could theoretically enter right now, if we had the body, the soul and the spirit which could enter it and endure its unimaginably high qualities. It is what the Taoists call Tao, the Buddhists call Nirvana, and the Bible calls the Kingdom of Heaven.

In this talk we would like to explain this concept by outlining the process of liberation, and how to actually practice such a process in daily life.

Nowadays there is a great public interest in the inner path, many meditation methods and meanings have developed along with numerous books and teachings on the subject. These are often advertised with recommendations such as “Prevent Stress”, “Increase your creativity and energy” etc.

Is it still possible to find the clear silver sound of the truth through meditation? Could it be that meditation is so popular today as we are longing for a better state of life, or a way to improve our existence?

From a Rosicrucian point-of-view, there are two possible aspects of meditation. In one we find the liberating truth, while in the other we do not.

In this talk we would like to explore the reason for the increase in the number of people turning to meditation, as well as what meditation is and how it can help liberate the soul by the process of inner reversal.

In the “Confessio Fraternitatis R. C., Chapter VIII we read:

“As in the human head there are two organs of hearing, two of sight, and two of smell, but only one of speech, and it were but vain to expect speech from the ears, or hearing from the eyes, so there have been ages which have seen, others which have heard, others again that have smelt and tasted. Now, there remains that in a short and swiftly approaching time honour should be likewise given to the tongue, that what formerly saw, heard, and smelt shall finally speak, after the world shall have slept away the intoxication of her poisoned and stupefying chalice, and with an open heart, bare head, and naked feet shall merrily and joyfully go forth to meet the sun rising in the morning.”

Stepping forth to meet the sun with open heart, bare head and unshod feet indicates symbolically the trinity of divine forces: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. They are three mystery planets spoken of in the Confessio in the year 1614 to symbolise the forces that will help renew man’s centres of consciousness.

What does it mean to possess an open heart? These words are generally completely misinterpreted or only half-understood. Some people say that ‘Someone who has an open heart demonstrates true love by his actions’. Others say that ‘Sensitivity has reached a pitch in such a person; such a person is exceptionally kind’.

The Gnostic however, is not content with such vague statements and blind mysticism. To a Gnostic, the quotation from the Confessio is an actual living reality experienced on the Path of Enlightenment. A positive reaction for the renewal of Man’s consciousness.

Who are the Rosicrucians and what is their aim?

What is written about the Rosycross states that they date from around the 13th and 14th century and they secretly practiced natural sciences. The name Rosicrucian has however been used during the past centuries by various groups and people who pursued different aims with the only common element was that they worked in secret and their name.

The Lectorium Rosicrucianum, or the Spiritual School of the Golden Rosycross is an organization that started in 1924. It differs from other Rosicrucian orders in that it is a Gnostic Spiritual School, in which the Path of Transfiguration (or the Endura) is professed and pursued.

Transfiguration is a Gnostic method of completely replacing the mortal, earth-born human being with the original, immortal divine being, the true Spirit-man according to the divine plan of creation.
In this public talk, we would like to expand on the theme of Transfiguration and show how everyone has the potential within to follow the Path of liberation.
